French Toast Made from Brioche recipe

Ingredients:

2/3 cup of whole milk or heavy cream.
4 large eggs.
2 tablespoons of sugar.
1 teaspoon of vanilla.
¼ teaspoon of salt.
½ teaspoon of nutmeg.
6 thick slices of brioche.
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
Powdered sugar.

Directions:

Preheat a griddle or large cast iron skillet.

In a casserole dish, whisk together the milk or cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt and nutmeg.

Place the sliced brioche flat into the bowl, ensuring that each piece lays flat in liquid.

Turn the slices in the liquid until they are saturated but not falling apart.

Melt the butter in the preheated griddle or skillet.

Place the brioche slices in the skillet. Cook until the underside is golden brown. Turn the bread and cook on the other side until golden.

Dust with powdered sugar.

Serve immediately.
